The trace waterfall now includes time compression, pinned attributes, and clickable Web Vital pills to help you focus on the parts of a trace you want to investigate.
Shrink empty gaps with time compression
Long gaps between spans can make a trace hard to follow. Time compression shrinks those empty gaps in the waterfall, bringing spans closer together so you can see more of the trace at once and focus on where work is happening.

Follow an attribute through a trace
Pin an attribute to see how its value changes over time in a trace. Pinned attributes keep those values visible as you explore the waterfall, making it easier to compare spans without opening each one individually.

To pin an attribute, you can select the pin action from the side panel attributes tree:

Jump to a Web Vital
Click a Web Vital pill in the trace summary or on the waterfall to zoom into the point where that metric was recorded. This brings the surrounding spans into view so you can investigate what was happening at that moment.
